in these funky looking knicker vest outfits and slap a bow tie around my neck when I was a kid.

Going to Catholic school for 12 years and wearing ties in High School and then while also
serving in the Air Force, I was forced to wear ties!
HATED IT!!!
Then? Something happened one day when
I stumbled into a vintage store in 1980 while in the service and I walked out with every freakin' vintage tie that they
had...I came across the most AMAZING vintage tie I've ever seen and basically went NUTTZ!
Things have never been the same since folks.
After
accumulating over 10,000 vintage ties I decided to start this website in 2000 to share my collection with the world!
I
still continue to purchase ties from all over the United States and sometimes from Europe on occasion. Always
on the lookout for the slightly unusual, always stunning vintage ties that I can find.
Each vintage tie that arrives is inspected for any rips, stains, holes or snags. If any stains are present, I personally hand wash each tie separately in
a mild soapy solution, then I hand press or either steam them before they are presented. If any flaws, such as stains,
holes, thread pulls or snags still exist , I WILL note that in each description and the tie will be discounted, accordingly.
However, MOST of the ties presented are MINT!!!
I do suggest with ANY vintage item that you purchase:
PLEASE DRY CLEAN ALL ITEMS.
Sometimes, hand washing just
doesn't do the trick 100% of the time in getting out the stubborn stains and odors.
